First vlog

Our first group vlog explaining our idea behiind the music video and why we changed from our previous song choice.

Pitch Preparation

In Monday's lesson our group started working on our treatment pitch and we planned out our music video in much more detail. We planned out what we wanted in each verse of the song, and where all our locations for shooting would be.

Loction Ideas:

• • Filming at a funfair
  • Knightsbridge in front of all the designr shops to portray the rich & glamorus lifestyle of one of the models
  • Camden Town (shooting in front of the graffitied car, in particular) 
  • Trafalger Square
  • Crews Hill field
   

Mood Board

Our group designed a mood board filled with settings and ideal weather and locations we would like to use for our music video. Some of the locations we were thinking about filming at were; Funfairs, Camden, Winter Wonderland. We were thinking about these locations as we felt that they were good settings for both dates and photoshoots, which is ideal for the narratives story in our music video.

Music Video Idea....

The first 2 minutes of our video shows our protagonist (a man) going on several dates with a series of different women givin us the impression that he is polyamerous. However the audience later finds out that these women are from magazines and the dates we see him on with these models are all fantasised by him. This was the primary gist of our video, however after briefly talking to some of my group we decided on a slightly different ending, to the music video, we thought it would be more interesting and meaningful to portray our protagonist as an 'inside the closet' homosexual who tries to hide his homosexuality by fantasising about models, showing how he finds it hard to reveal and except his sexuality because of the judgemental and corrupt scociety arround him.

Our group made this video in respose to the 'Orange is the New Black' opening 'You've Got Time' we did this to pactise both our editing skills as well as our camera shot compositions and mise-en-scene

Song Change...

Small Pools - Mason Jar

 

As a group we felt that we needed to change our song choice, as the song 'One of Those Crazy Girls' was far too predicatble and a lot harder to put a twist on as the lyrics were so literal and unflexible. So instead we choose the song Mason Jar by Smallpools, because its lyrics were a lot more ambiguous and therefore allowed us to be more imaginative and creative with our music video. The song is also a lot more upbeat making it easier to edit.
